2019 Women Enterprise Fund-Women Empowerment in Konoin Constituency

2.6 Million Women Enterprise Fund distributed in Konoin Constituency on 16th September 2019

On 16th September 2019 Konoin Constituency officers represented Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon in issuing Women Enterprise Funds cheques worth 2.6m to Eight (8) women groups across the constituency. This is in line with his pledge of empowering women. These groups are:

1)Mengichik widows women group – Cheptabach 500k
2) Chebarus vision women group – Kiptui 500k
3) Sachagwan women group – Kipraisi 500k
4) Kipchabai women group – Kaptebengwo 350k
5) Takites enterprise women group – Michira 200k
6) Chesoton welfare group – Bosto 350k
7) Lelechwet self help group – Chebugen 100k
8) Kimugul flowers women group – Chebangang 100k

2019 Konoin NG-CDF Phase two of Bodaboda training

On Saturday 15th June 2019 Hon.Brighton Yegon-MP Konoin continued to fulfill the pledges he gave during the campaign by launching bodaboda training funded by NG-CDF. He had promised to train at least two(200) hundred riders every year and by the end of five years he targets to train at least one thousand riders as the office gets more funding. This year too hundred are being trained.

He observed that Bodaboda has created employment to young people in the constituency and vowed to support them in all means so that they can enjoy the business they have engaged in. He also encouraged the Riders to put their safety and their clients safety first hence the reason why he is funding their training.

Water is Life

On 26/05/2019 Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon officially opened Chagungu_spring (fully funded by NG-CDF) which serves residents of Satiet market, Ksalat secondary and its environs. NG_CDF has already supported 25 other springs as a way of assisting women get access to clean water from the source (Initiative of first lady-Konoin Constituency)
Thereafter he also presided over a fundraiser towards church completion at satiet deliverance, and delivered 500,000 from his Excellency Deputy President Dr.William Samoei Ruto towards the same. He later attended FPFK church at Mogogosiek town for a fundraiser for Bishops Car.

32 MILLION 2019 BURSARY LAUNCH AT NGERERIT DAY SECONDARY

On 11/05/2019 Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon Launched Thirty two (32) million bursary distribution at Ngererit Day Secondary school. In attendance were principals of various institutions, parents, students among others.
This event comes after a thorough exercise of public participation where village representatives elected by people, village elders, chiefs came together to vet and come up with a list of most needy in the society. One formulae was used to allocate ceiling of funds to locational and consequently to primary schools for fair distribution.
A number of Principals within Konoin Constituebcy and on neighborhood institutions collected the cheques together with list of beneficiaries for their respective secondary schools and colleges from the venue.
Modalities of distribution of the remaining cheques have been put in place for those cheques that were not collected across the country which include delivering them using EMS.
The List of beneficiaries is now pinned on chiefs office notice boards, respective primary schools (vetting centres), and website
NOTE:
1. Cheques will not be issued to students or parents so as to avoid cases of misplacement, delays, loss, forgery of beneficiaries list among others.

2. Least allocation bursary : ksh 5000 for all reserve bursary allocation

3. He also delivered a promise of sewing machine to my good friend Patrick Kibet plus paid him fee balance to enable him conclude training in a special school.

4. BODA BODA TRAINING launch will be done soon on a date to be communicated

Contribution to NHIF by Konoin MP

16/02/2019

Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon Joined Bomet county half marathon to partner in fundraising for more than 10,000 vulnerable households to be covered by NHIF. This was a noble initiative that as leadership should embrace in the sensitization of as many people as possible to join NHIF.  He presented a cheque of Kshs two (2) million on behalf of konoin constituency among other donations.

Kiptui-Mugenyi Road Compensation

Historic day
19th January 2019 is a date that marked end of an era of constant struggles for Kiptui families. It also marked the start of construction and for pathetic road that has been impassable for a very long time because we can now be allowed to maintain it.
Hon. Brighton Leonard Yegon presented a cheque worth Kshs 1.5 million to the families as part payment of 2.2million required to compensate them.
He also launched the start of Kiptui road construction that will see expansion , dossing, grading, murraming, rolling, culverting, and drainage.
It is expected that the road will be ready for use in less than two weeks.

Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon on the journey to realize quality education in the constituency, he is working hard to improve infrastructure and facilities in schools, between 13th and 15th December 2018 he visited a number of schools in the constituency in order to have first hand information on existing infrastructure and gather facts which will be used to make informed allocations going to the future. He also issued cheques to a number of schools as per the requests during January 2018 public participation. These are the schools:

2018 NG-CDF Sports Tournament Finals

On Saturday 24/11/2018 Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon presided  over Finals for Konoin constituency NG-CDF sports Tournament between Sotit vs Sangwa home boyz fc . The results were Sotit 1 vs Sangwa home boyz fc 0
The winners were awarded as promised during the launch in 4th August 2018. They were awarded as follows:

WINNERS : Sotit fc – Green house + 50k
NUMBER 2: Sangwa home boyz fc – 60k
NUMBER 3 : as a result of walk over – Tebes Fc : 40k
All winners at locational level in 16 locations had been issued with boots, Jersey, ball, shin guard, socks etc
Number 1 to 4 at all 16 locations were given uniforms and ball
All participating teams were given balls

Appreciation also goes to our guests 1st governor Bomet Isaac Rutto, Chairman NWPC hon Dr Kones, Deputy speaker Bomet county hon Wesley Kiprotich MCA Chepchabas, Hon. Clara Koech MCA Kimulot ward, Hon Winny Bore Nominated MCA among other guests for gracing the occasion.
This marked the beginning of a journey of youth empowerment.

Congratulations to all the more than 90 teams that participated in the tournament.

2018 NG-CDF Boda Boda Training Graduation Ceremony at Mogogosiek Stadium

On Saturday 24/11/2018 Hon.Brighton Leonard Yegon presided over graduation ceremony for over 205 boda boda operators at Mogogosiek stadium.The boda boda riders have been on a training for the last six months’ courtesy of NG-CDF. Road safety is a priority to all.

Hon. Brighton Yegon has promised to continue supporting the training to ensure all boda boda riders are compliant. This will increase road safety and reduce cases accidents on the road and reduce cases of harassment by police on boda boda operators due to lack of proper documentation.
